About

Professionally, I have over twenty-five years of education, training and clinical experience.

In 1993, I graduated from Boston University with a Master of Social Work degree with a clinical focus on Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT).  After graduation, I was employed at Boston University Hospital (now Boston Medical Center) as a clinical social worker.  I helped to develop the outpatient social work clinic from the ground up and assisted in the eventual merging of the Social Work, Psychology and Psychiatry Departments.  I enjoyed working in the capacity of a psychotherapist as well as a clinical supervisor for many years.  I have completed the Certificate Program in Assessment and Treatment of Couples from Boston University, and am trained in EMDR (eye movement desensitization reprocessing) through the EMDR International Association.   I currently use a variety of techniques, both traditional and holistic, to help my clients reach their individual goals.

Personally, I was born and raised in a small town in Northern Michigan.  I moved to Boston after graduating from Kalamazoo College in 1985, and have been here ever since.  I am married, and my husband and I are raising our two wonderful daughters.  I enjoy spending time with my family and friends, and love to cook!

I have had a private practice since 1999, taking a small break to stay home with my children until they were of school-age.
